CA15 Gets an ENnie Nomination for Best Free Product
July 9, 2010 - We are very humbled and pleased to announce that the only free bi-monthly PDF for 4e has just been nominated for an ENnie award for Best Free Product and we're up against some stiff competition: one from Paizo, another made by those die-hard Paizo fans, and another written by Stan! for Harper Collins. Nevertheless, we are very proud of this nomination and want to thank everyone out there for their support and downloading CA over the past two years. WHAT IS COMBAT ADVANTAGE?
If the name of our free-zine looks a lot like the 4E term for gaining the upper hand on your opponent, then you're in the right place. Combat Advantage (or CA) is our bi-monthly free online magazine (or "free-zine" to be hip and save on those pesky consonants) dedicated to the 4th Edition of the Dungeons & Dragons (TM) roleplaying game by Wizards of the Coast. More specifically, CA provides bonus material for one-shots and unique campaigns, plus news and updates on the independent 4e market from third-party publishers (3pp's), freelancers, and more.
Each issue provides stand-alone articles containing unique rules, new content (like monsters, feats, powers, magic items, and whatever else we can come up with), playtests and previews of upcoming releases from various independent publishers across the board and anything else suited for your individual campaign. While not everything you find in CA will work for you, our goal is to open your mind about 4e in ways beyond the scope of the core game. It may be their rules, but this is our game!
Combat Advantage is available FREE on this site and from all OneBookShelf locations.

OPEN CALLS
We are always looking for new submissions!! All the time. While we have a regular crew of volunteer contributors, nothing can replace that one unique idea no one else has ever come up with. We're also available for any previews you may be looking to release for any upcoming sale products supporting 4e.
All submissions must comply with the current version of the Game System License (GSL) provided by Wizards of the Coast. As all issues of CA are free of charge, submissions are not paid and provided for the purpose of PDF publication by Emerald Press PDF Publishing. To submit your ideas, send in a completed draft to submissions@emeraldpresspdf.com as a Word document, PDF, or text file. (Please be sure any submitted PDFs have the copy-paste function avaiable.) We must be able to see your full work, including complete stats, power descriptions and anything else utilized within the submission. If your work is chosen, you will be provided with full author credit and a copy of the final issue upon publication.
All submissions remains the property of the author and is used with permission.
If you are an independent publisher looking to use CA for your latest preview, please be sure to provide a final edit upon submission. We are always willing to accept a fully designed PDF in accordance with your finished product.
